| Thanks for visiting! You've come to the right place for the most advanced solution for converting your PDF files into editable objects and text. pdf2cad transforms PDF files into your choice of formats - DXF or HPGL. It is based on a powerful framework that has been commercially available for more than 12 years so it's well proven. Plus, it's always been enhanced steadily based on customer feedback (as well as engineering dreams!) so it does what you need. pdf2cad extracts the geometry from your PDF files and generates a file that can be opened and edited in most popular engineering applications including AutoCAD. Here's what some customers have said about the new v6.8 release so far.
pdf2cad operates successfully on "vector" PDF files. Most PDF files that are produced by other applications are by default scalable vector files. If you are starting with a scanned drawing, this is a "raster" PDF and pdf2cad will not be able to generate objects from it. This is because the geometry information was lost when scanned and is not there for us to extract. pdf2cad will, in this case, create a CAD image which can be used as a tracing template to redraw the design. If you want to try to rebuild the CAD drawing electronically from a scan, you need a type of software called "raster-to-vector". We can recommend the solutions from Scan2CAD and Trix Systems for this. For more information on vector vs. raster files, please see the following tips on our web site:
Try pdf2cad yourself using the links on the right or let us convert a file for you. Just send your test-file to testfile@pdf2cad.com and let us know if you want DXF or HPGL. We'll convert it and send the results back on the same day. If you require a developer API, DLL, Batch capabilities or more formats, have a look at PDF FLY, FLY SDK and Fly Batch. |
